HILLSDALE - Three Michigan brothers accused of having more than a pound of suspected marijuana in their vehicle with the intent to deliver it were arraigned yesterday in Hillsdale County District Court, Michigan State Police said.

Nicholas Dias, 29, of Howell, Mich., and Zachary Dias, 19, and William Dias, 22, both of Lansing, were each charged with possession with the intent to deliver marijuana, troopers said.

Nicholas Dias and Zachary Dias are being held in the Hillsdale County jail in lieu of $10,000 bonds. William Dias is free on bond.

Troopers stopped a 1996 Volkswagen driven by Nicholas Dias about 8:45 p.m. Sunday in Hillsdale County's Moscow Township for an equipment violation. He was driving on a suspended license and was arrested, troopers said.

During a search of the vehicle, troopers found the marijuana in two book bags.

Information gathered from the traffic stop led authorities to a residence in the county's Allen Township, where they found evidence of a marijuana growing operation, troopers said.
