ARLINGTON, Ohio - The body of a 51-year-old man was found yesterday in a car submerged in a lake near a hunting clubhouse in Hancock County's Madison Township, authorities said.
Robert Houdeshell of Hancock County's Van Buren Township was pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff's deputies said. An autopsy is scheduled today at the Lucas County Coroner's Office.
About 9:45 a.m. yesterday, a member of the So-han-co Sportsman Club found what appeared to be vehicle tracks along the snow-covered edge of Whiskey Lake, which is an old, water-filled quarry, deputies said.
Divers found the vehicle, with Mr. Houdeshell behind the wheel, under 25 feet of water. The car was removed from the water about 3 p.m., deputies said.
Foul play was probably not a factor in Mr. Houdeshell's death, deputies said.
