Toledo-area radio personality Troy Neff was injured Wednesday night at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center after being stabbed three times earlier in the evening on Holiday Lane in Perrysburg Township, near the U.S. 20-I-75 interchange, authorities said.

Jeffery T. Hardeman, 42, of Knoxville, Tenn., was arrested about three hours after the incident and was charged with felonious assault, authorities said. Mr. Hardeman was taken to the Wood County jail, where he was being held on $50,000 bond.

Police believe the stabbing, which occurred about 6:15 p.m., stemmed from a road rage incident.

They said the suspect cut off Mr. Neff s car, and the two men ended up in the parking lot of Mr. Neff's business, where the stabbing occurred. The scene was near the Holiday Inn Perrysburg.

Mr. Neff was stabbed three times in the left arm and shoulder, police said.

The suspect fled, but was arrested about 9:30 p.m. on U.S. 20, not far from the scene of the stabbing, police said.

Mr. Neff's radio show producer, Jeremy Baumhower, said Wednesday night that Mr. Neff was in good spirits. He said Mr. Neff lamented he would not be able to do his show Thursday morning, when Mayor Carty Finkbeiner was scheduled to be a guest.

Mr. Neff, managing director of Advanced Retirement Solutions, 27493 Holiday Lane, is host of the Troy Neff Show, which runs from 6 to 10 a.m. weekdays on WCWA-AM 230.

He also is a political commentator on WTVG-TV, Channel 13 s Conklin and Company, and a columnist for the Toledo Free Press.
