Fostoria advisory lifted as tap water ruled safe

2/11/2009

FOSTORIA The boil-water advisory that went into effect Monday afternoon was lifted yesterday after the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency said tap water was safe to drink again.

The advisory was issued when routine monitoring showed sediment at almost 2.5 times the permissible level.

The condition is not dangerous but can interfere with disinfection and encourage bacterial growth, according to a warning from Ron Fauls, Fostoria filtration plant supervisor.
