Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about a robbery Feb. 9 at a Check-N-Go in which an employee was bound with tape, authorities said.

Amber Klingensmith, whose age was unavailable, arrived at the store at 555 East Manhattan Blvd. about 9 a.m., dropped off receipts, and went next door to get a beverage, police said.

She returned to the store and unlocked the front door at 10 a.m. When Ms. Klingensmith turned around, a man grabbed her shirt and put a gun to the back of her head, police said.

The assailant forced her to the floor and put his foot on the back of her neck, police said. He demanded Ms. Klingensmith open the safe and threatened to kill her when she told him all the money was in the cash drawers.

Ms. Klingensmith then entered the safe's combination, police said. During the 10-minute delay for the safe to open, the man bound the victim's arms and legs with tape and put tape over her mouth, police said.

The robber stole about $3,300, a report said.

The suspect was described as white, about 6 feet tall, and 170 pounds. He was wearing light denim jeans, a dark hooded sweatshirt, a white scarf, and a baseball cap, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stopper at 419-255-1111. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
