BOWLING GREEN - Three men were scheduled to be arraigned Monday for the assault this weekend of a Bowling Green man.

The victim, Wesley Punches, 21, was taken to an area hospital for treatment after he was attacked early Saturday morning inside his residence in the 400 block of South Church Street. His condition was unavailable.

Brett Rahe, 24, of Pemberville, Justin Happeny, 20, also of Pemberville, and Thurman Lawniczak, 25, of Northwood, forced their way into Mr. PunchesÂ’ residence about 4:10 a.m. and beat him up, police said. The three men knocked him down on the kitchen floor and then punched and kicked him in the head, police said, citing a report by his roommate who they said witnessed the incident.

The three men told police that they went to the residence after Mr. PunchesÂ’ girlfriend called one of them and accused Mr. Punches of breaking into her apartment and hitting her.

Mr. PunchesÂ’ roommate called 9-1-1 during the attack. Police arrived a short time later, arrested the three men, and charged them with felonious assault and aggravated burglary. They were later booked into the Wood County jail.
