Housing-bias suit settled for $65,000

2/25/2009

The Toledo Fair Housing Center and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission announced recently that a settlement was reached for $65,000 in a lawsuit that alleged disability discrimination in housing.

The civil rights commission was a plaintiff in the case against Sylvania landlord Elrod Bradley, who purportedly refused to allow the family of a disabled boy to add a wheelchair ramp to the house that they were renting. Although the case was settled in November in Lucas County Common Pleas Court, the center only recently learned of the settlement.
