Driver released from prison

4/21/2009

A little more than a year after being sent to prison for killing a man he ran over, a Sylvania Township man was released and put on community control for five years.

Justin Pool, 21, also was ordered in Lucas County Common Pleas Court yesterday by Judge Gene Zmuda to spend six months in the Correctional Treatment Facility.

Pool pleaded no contest Feb. 26, 2008, to leaving the scene of an accident, a felony, and vehicular homicide, a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to three years in prison on March 31, 2008.

Pool was driving home from a party on Blossman Road in June, 2007, when he ran over the head and shoulders of an intoxicated Ronald Lee White, Jr., who was lying partly in the roadway.
