Road Warrior: 05-08

5/8/2009

The Blade s Road Warrior advises readers each Friday where the biggest driving headaches will be throughout the construction season. He ll tell you the locations to avoid and the detours to take.

The next major project to get going this spring is the Salisbury Road interchange reconstruction at I-475/U.S. 23 on the western edge of Maumee.

While it will not require any long-term lane closings on either Salisbury or the freeway, some nighttime lane closings will be needed on I-475, and motorists should expect to encounter work crews and traffic shifts in the area for the project s

duration.

The Douglas Road bridge replacement, meanwhile, enters its second week today, and on Sunday and Monday nights there will be short-term shutdowns, lasting no longer than 15 minutes, on I-475 while the old bridge s beams are removed.

Work hours will be 11 p.m. through 5:30 the following morning. During the Monday night work, the Monroe Street entrance to eastbound I-475 will be closed as well.
