LIMA, Ohio - A Waynesfield, Ohio, man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-75 in Allen County's Richland Township late Saturday, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Broderick Harrison, 21, died as a result of injuries after he was ejected from the vehicle at about 8:45 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, Cagney Slygh, 22, of Lima, was in serious condition yesterday at Toledo Hospital.

According to troopers at the Lima post, Mr. Slygh was driving south on I-75 near Beaverdam when he lost control of the car. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway into the median, overturned, crossed the northbound lanes of traffic, struck a ditch, overturned again, and ejected both men before coming to rest against a fence.

Both occupants were transported to Lima Memorial Hospital, where Mr. Harrison, who was in the front passenger seat, was pronounced dead. Mr. Slygh was then transported to Toledo Hospital. Neither man was wearing a seat belt.

The crash is under investigation.
