Toledo man indicted in fatal May 1 shooting

A Toledo man arrested last month in connection with a fatal shooting in North Toledo May 1 was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury yesterday.

Dejuan Booker, 29, was charged with murder with a gun specification and carrying a concealed weapon. He is charged in the death of Armond Parker, 22, near Mercer Street and Foredale Avenue. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.

Police said the shootings happened at 12:20 a.m. after a drug transaction. Mr. Parker died of a gunshot to the head, according to the Lucas County Coroner s Office.

A second man, Markies Turner, was treated at the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, for a gunshot wound.
