9/12/2009

A new trial date was set in Lucas County Common Pleas Court for Anthony Belton, charged in the robbery and shooting death of a BP convenience store clerk.

Mr. Belton's trial was rescheduled for Feb. 22 to give attorneys time to prepare for the case.

Mr. Belton, 23, of 934 Cuthbert Rd. was charged with one count of aggravated murder and two counts of aggravated robbery. Included in the murder charge were two specifications that make him eligible for the death penalty.

Mr. Belton, who is held in the Lucas County jail, is charged in the slaying of Matthew Dugan.
