Northwest State to start accelerated classes

ARCHBOLD, Ohio — Northwest State Community College will start new eight-week accelerated courses this month.

The eight-week course schedule includes the same format as the 16-week classes, but at an accelerated rate, according to the college.

The first of the shorter-term courses begins Oct. 21.

Students who missed the beginning of the fall semester previously had to wait until January to start classes, Dennis Giacomino, the college's director of admissions, said.

“With the eight-week accelerated program, individuals get a chance to jump-start their education by taking one or two concentrated classes now,” he said.
