Toledo man injured in May home invasion dies

Kenneth Fox, the elderly man who was critically injured and whose wife was killed during an invasion of their North Toledo home in May, has died, officials said.

Mr. Fox, 75, died Sunday in Darlington House nursing home, according to the Lucas County Coroner's Office.

The death is being investigated as a homicide related to the injuries he sustained during the home invasion, but the cause had not been determined, Dr. Maneesha Pandey, deputy coroner, said.

Mr. Fox's wife, Frances, 88, was killed during the attack in their home at 3373 Mulberry St. Mr. Fox was knocked out and remained unconscious for days before coming to and calling 911 on the afternoon of May 5.

Edgar Howard, 47, was charged with aggravated murder and felonious assault in the case. He is in custody awaiting trial.

The crimes in the Fox home generated much fear in North Toledo.
