Oak Harbor man hurt in snowmobile crash

ROCKY RIDGE, Ohio - An Oak Harbor man was seriously injured when he was thrown from his snowmobile after it hit a culvert.

Ottawa County sheriff's deputies said the crash occurred about 10:30 p.m. Friday in Benton Township north of Schiller Road between Lickert-Harder and Benton-Carroll roads.

Deputies and rescue crews had to use four-wheel-drive vehicles to reach Shane Baumert, 24, who was taken to Mercy St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, by helicopter. He was listed in serious condition last night.
