Toledo police are looking for information through the Crime Stopper program about the theft of a semi trailer filled with car tires that were largely missing when the trailer was recovered in Toledo.

The trailer was reported stolen Jan. 25 to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office in Sidney, Ohio. The trailer was recovered two days later in a parking lot in the 200 block of West Alexis Road in West Toledo.

At the time it was stolen, the trailer was loaded with 960 new tires, authorities said.

When the trailer was found, 135 tires were left inside and 41 were in another trailer parked beside it, police said.

The trailer is owned by the Garner Trucking firm of Findlay. Anyone with information is asked to call the Toledo Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
