Toledo mother, 2 sons indicted in kidnapping, beating

A mother and her two sons charged in the kidnapping and beating of her daughter's boyfriend were indicted by a Lucas County grand jury yesterday.

Donna Sims, 40, was indicted on a charge of kidnapping and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Alonzo Webb, 23, of 1217 South Ave. is charged with kidnapping, receiving stolen property, carrying a concealed weapon, and having a weapon under disability. He faces up to 18 years in prison if convicted. Jamarlo Hornes, 19, of 538 Nebraska Ave. is charged with kidnapping, receiving stolen property, and carrying a concealed weapon. He faces up to 13 years in prison if convicted.

Police say Ms. Sims drove her sons to her daughter's home in the 500 block of Eastern Avenue to confront the girl's boyfriend about 10:15 p.m. March 5. The brothers are accused of pointing a stolen handgun at Marshawn Murphy, 16, of central Toledo and beating him. He refused treatment for injuries, police said.
