Collection blitz targets traffic camera violations

5/1/2010

The city of Toledo's red-light camera violations collection blitz begins today.

The Bell administration proposed and City Council enacted legislation permitting Toledo Police to immobilize or tow vehicles that have two or more unpaid red light camera citations. The targeted enforcement will last until June 30.

Owners of vehicles that are immobilized or towed must pay all outstanding citations before vehicles can be claimed. There will also be fees for towing, removing boots, and storage of the vehicle. People with outstanding citations can avoid having their vehicles booted or towed by paying their fines.

To pay a fine, vehicle owners can contact Red Flex, the city's camera vendor, at 877-847-2338. The city does not accept fines for red-light camera violations.
