FINDLAY — Fire investigators said Friday a late-night fire that damaged two downtown businesses was arson.

Matt Pickett, investigator for the Findlay Fire Department, said plastic trash containers were set ablaze at Streicher's QuickPrint and the Sign Shop at the rear of the building.

Firefighters were called to the South Main Street businesses about 11:15 p.m. Thursday. A crew remained on the scene until after 4 a.m. yesterday. One firefighter was injured and taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Fire officials said the blaze caused an estimated $175,000 damage.

The print shop, which is next to the Blanchard River, had been damaged in recent floods and had been remodeled.
