LIMA, Ohio - A tornado Friday downed tree limbs in the city but caused no injuries or serious damage, authorities said.

Allen County sheriff's deputies spotted the twister in Faurot Park, in southwest Lima, about 5:40 p.m. and followed it northwest across the city. The storm that generated the twister then tracked north into Putnam County, where Columbus Grove firefighters reported seeing a hovering funnel cloud shortly before 6 p.m.

It never touched down but was followed by heavy rain and hail, which caused no reported damage or injuries.
