The president and CEO of Destination Toledo Inc., formerly the Toledo-Lucas County Convention and Visitors Bureau, will leave his position next month after a year and a half at the job.

Dave Nolan plans to take a position in Tulsa, Okla. with the Tulsa Convention & Visitors Bureau.

His resignation was announced at a Destination Toledo board meeting Friday morning. The board plans to name an interim president within the next few days, said Scott Shook, chairman of the board.

"He's done a lot of very good things here in his very short tenure," Mr. Shook said. "We're sorry to lose him, but we wish him well."

Since Mr. Nolan joined the agency in January, 2009, he helped to secure several clients, such as the YMCA gymnastics tournament that will come to Toledo in the summer of 2012.

He was also instrumental in forming a relationship with Penn National, which is building a casino on the Maumee River.

"He has given us the road map if you will, the playbook, as we go forward," Mr. Shook said.

Mr. Nolan's last day will be July 23.
