Steve Weathers, president and chief executive officer of the Regional Growth Partnership in Toledo, is one of two finalists to become the next CEO of the Savannah Economic Development Authority in Savannah, Ga.

Lynn Pitts, interim president and CEO of the Savannah agency, also is being considered for the position, said David Paddison, a board member and vice chairman of the Georgia organization's succession planning committee.

Mr. Paddison confirmed the finalists' names Wednesday.

The agency expects to choose its new chief executive in the next two weeks. The job will pay $200,000 to $300,000, Mr. Paddison said. It was not immediately available what Mr. Weathers' current salary is.

Mr. Weathers joined the growth partnership in 2005, after having been president and CEO of the Greater Tucson Economic Development Council and vice president of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp.

He has since focused such objectives as retaining existing Toledo companies, bringing new jobs to the region, and fostering development of technology firms.
