Three juveniles were shot Wednesday night during a shootout that spilled out of Steve's Bar in South Toledo and ended in a neighborhood near the Toledo Zoo.

Police believe two of the juveniles were shot in the back — and that those two fled in an SUV that later flipped at the corner of Glendale Avenue and Harvard Boulevard shortly after 8 p.m.

The two shooting victims who crashed were apparently driving to the University of Toledo Medical Center when their vehicle flipped as it rounded a corner.

Luke Mercer, 17, who saw the accident occur, said two men exited the vehicle and told him to call an ambulance.

A third victim is believed to have gone on his own to Mercy St. Charles Hospital in Oregon.

Toledo police Lt. Frank Ramirez said the two men who crashed at Glendale Avenue did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.

One was shot in the lower back and the other was shot a couple inches above the lower back.

The bar shooting occurred at Broadway and Knapp Street at Steve's Bar, which is also known as Charleston Bar.
