A federal lawsuit brought against Bellevue schools by former Superintendent William “Bud” Martin has been dismissed.

U.S. District Court Judge Jack Zouhary dismissed the suit last week, saying the school board did not violate Mr. Martin's constitutional rights by firing him after finding he had violated the district's policy on sexual harassment and created a hostile workplace.

“The Board of Education is pleased with this result,” Daniel Mason, attorney for the board, said in a statement. “The federal court has confirmed that Mr. Martin was indeed given his legal rights prior to termination under federal law.”
