Ex-Seneca County sheriff to be top Hardin County deputy

12/27/2010

ATTICA, Ohio — Village Police Chief Jeff Briggs, who served temporarily as Seneca County Sheriff, has been hired as chief deputy by the Hardin County Sheriff's Office in Kenton.

Last February, Chief Briggs was named Seneca County sheriff by the county's Republican Central Committee after former Sheriff Tom Steyer resigned to take a job with the U.S. Foreign Service. He was defeated in the Republican primary in May by William Eckelberry, a former captain with the sheriff's office.
