A Detroit man accused of firing three rounds into a vehicle parked at Westfield Franklin Park Mall after the driver accidentally dinged the side of his vehicle has been federally indicted on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio office.

Edmund J. Robinson, 34, was being held in the Lucas County jail by the U.S. Marshal's Office at no bond pending his preliminary hearing at U.S. District Court in Toledo at a later date, which has not been set yet, according to an office spokesman.

The incident occurred at about 6:45 p.m. Jan. 4, according to Toledo police. It began when Bedford Township resident Richard Dougherty arrived at the mall and accidentally opened his vehicle's door into the side of Mr. Robinson's vehicle as it was parking next to him.

Mr. Robinson allegedly tried to quarrel with Mr. Dougherty and trip him as he walked his family into the mall. When Mr. Dougherty returned to his vehicle intending to move it, he saw Mr. Robinson getting back into his. Mr. Dougherty then discovered that on his vehicle the driver's side front and rear windows had been shot out, along with the rear passenger window and left rear tire, police have said.
