DUNDEE — A U.S. Postal Service letter carrier was killed Tuesday while delivering mail when she fell through the floor of a front porch here, authorities said.

Nancy Schafer, 46, a well-known village resident, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:10 p.m., Dundee police Chief David Uhl said.

The chief said Ms. Schafer fell about 10 feet and was struck by the concrete porch floor that fell on her.
