North Toledo meeting to focus on gas project

Columbia Gas of Ohio has scheduled a public hearing for 6 Tuesday night at the Lagrange Branch Library on plans to replace 18,000 feet of natural gas main over the next five months along several North Toledo streets.

The five-month, $1.7 million project to upgrade from steel to plastic pipe will begin Tuesday, weather permitting, and will affect customers along several streets, including Beaumont, Blackstone, Booth, Buckeye, Clay, Fredonia, Harvey, Homer, Jeanette, Ketcham, Maher, and Ridgewood.

It will require interruption of service, and customers will be notified by letter in advance of the interruptions, the utility said. The project is paid for by a surcharge on all customers’ bills.
