1 killed in collision on State Rt. 53
4/30/2011FREMONT — A Martin, Ohio, woman was killed Saturday night in a motorcycle-van crash near Fremont, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Annette Brewster, 62, was killed when her motorcycle collided about 10:15 p.m. with a minivan driven by Taylor Flick, 16, of Fremont, at the intersection of State Rt. 53 and Sandusky County Road 41, according to the highway patrol. Miss Flick was uninjured in the crash.
Ms. Brewster was northbound on State Rt. 53 when Miss Flick, who was eastbound on Sandusky County Road 41, failed to yield the right-of-way, according to the highway patrol. Ms. Brewster struck Miss Flick's minivan, was thrown from her motorcycle, and suffered fatal injuries. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to the highway patrol, but alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The case will be forwarded to the Sandusky County Juvenile Prosecutors Office for review after the investigation is completed.
