Toledo City Council will hold a hearing Thursday on a proposal to end free metered street parking downtown for three hours at lunchtime.

Council’s economic development and human resources committees meet at 2 p.m. in council chambers at One Government Center. The proposal, if approved, would require paid parking at meters between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday except on holidays. Drivers currently are to pay from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and again from 2 to 5 p.m.
