Grand jury indicts man in death in Put-in-Bay
9/22/2011PORT CLINTON -- A Bowling Green man held since Sept. 7 in the death of a Cleveland area man in Put-in-Bay has been indicted by an Ottawa County grand jury on one count each of murder, voluntary manslaughter, and felonious assault.
Zachary J. Brody, 27, also was indicted on two counts of intimidation of a witness and five counts of tampering with evidence. He is in the Ottawa County jail in lieu of $750,000 bond. His first appearance in Common Pleas Court is set for 9 a.m. tomorrow, Mark Mulligan, county prosecutor, said. Mr. Brody is charged in connection with the death of Philip Masterson, 25, of Westlake, Ohio, whose body was found Sept. 6 wrapped in a tarp in a wooded area of the island.
