Meeting is Friday on widening B.G. street

BOWLING GREEN -- The Ohio Department of Transportation and Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce have invited local merchants and civic leaders to a meeting Friday to discuss the North Main Street widening project, for which major construction is scheduled to start next month.

The $7.25 million project features adding a turn lane between Dill Avenue and Newton Road, along with intersection improvements, new traffic signals, and sidewalk upgrades. The work will restrict North Main, part of State Rt. 25, to one lane each way plus turn lanes at intersections, for about two years. Poe Road will be closed at North Main for about 60 days next spring.
