1 dead in head-on collision
10/15/2011Authorities reported one person dead and several others injured late Saturday in a head-on collision on northbound I-75 between Berdan and Phillips avenues.
Five people were transported by Life Squad to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, including a pediatric trauma patient, authorities said.
The crash was reported about 10:50 p.m. At least one person was trapped in a vehicle.
Toledo police and fire and rescue crews had to travel the wrong way up the Phillips entrance ramp to get to the scene.
By 11:15 p.m., the injured were still being taken to hospitals. At 11:45 p.m., northbound I-75 was still closed in the area.
Toledo police were investigating the crash.
