Monroe Street in Sylvania to be closed for road repairs

Monroe Street in Sylvania will be closed at the railroad tracks between Main Street and Silica Drive for seven days so Norfolk Southern can make repairs.

The work was to start Monday but was delayed apparently because of the heavy rain. A detour will be marked.

The repair news comes only days after remarks at a recent city council meeting by Mayor Craig Stough, who said Norfolk Southern had told city officials the work would not be done this year, as had previously been promised.
