Vanguard-Sentinel teachers OK 3-year pact
12/24/2011FREMONT -- Teachers with the Vanguard-Sentinel Career Centers have settled with the board of education on a three-year contract.
Under the pact, approved by the teachers' union Tuesday and the school board Wednesday night, teachers are to receive step increases for seniority but no base-pay increases in the first year. In the second and third years, they are to get 1 percent raises, but no step increases.
The pact is retroactive to July 1. It covers about 100 teachers at the Vanguard building in Fremont and the Sentinel building in Tiffin.
