Pudgie, the dog featured in The Blade's Dec. 19 story about Lucas County Dog Warden's Prisoners Helping Dogs program, has found a home. Lori Ryan of Toledo adopted the tan shepherd on Friday.

Pudgie, who arrived at the shelter in July, was the last of the first four graduates of the pound's program to get a home. The dog lived for six weeks at the Toledo Correctional Institution and was trained by prisoners David Brody and John Spirko. Ms. Ryan said Dog Warden Julie Lyle gave her a list of commands that Pudgie knows.
