Sylvania forum to focus on human trafficking

"Pastoral Responses to Human Trafficking from a Multi-Faith Perspective" will be the theme of a Jan. 11 conference in Sylvania.

The meeting is scheduled on National Human Trafficking Awareness Day and is to be held in two sessions, from 9 a.m. to noon and 2 to 5 p.m., at the Rosary Care Center on the grounds of the Sylvania Franciscan Village, 6832 Convent Blvd.

Presentations on "Spirituality and Survivors" are to be given by Sylvania Franciscan Sister Geraldine Nowak and Notre Dame Sister Sandy Sherman.

A panel discussion is to feature Fatima Al-Hayani, the Rev. Cedric Brock, the Rev. Sharon McQueary, Sudershan Pasupuleti, Rabbi Moshe Saks, and the Rev. Karen Shepler.

The conference is being presented by STOP (Stop Trafficking Of Persons), founded in 2006 by the Sylvania Franciscans, Tiffin Franciscans, Ursuline Sisters, and the Notre Dame Sisters.
