Sylvania bicyclist hit by vehicle on Greenbelt

Authorities Wednesday identified Brandon Allen of Sylvania as the bicyclist struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in North Toledo.

Mr. Allen, 33, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with critical injuries, according to Toledo police.

A hospital spokesman said Wednesday night that Mr. Allen was in the neuro-intensive care unit but that she did not have a condition.

Mr. Allen was riding north on Bush Street about 9:30 p.m. when he ran a red light at the Buckeye Basin Greenbelt Parkway and was struck by a vehicle driven by Christopher Hodge, 37, who was driving east on Greenbelt Parkway, in the curb lane, and was unable to see him, police said.
