Police arrest man in air conditioner thefts

Authorities have arrested a man they say was stealing and dismantling air conditioning units at a Rossford business so he could sell the aluminum and copper.

Morton Irving Hollowell, 43, address unavailable, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. today by Sylvania Township Police in at a residence in their jurisdiction at 3239 Wilford Drive. He is scheduled for arraignment Monday in Sylvania Municipal Court.

The units were taken from Electro Prime, 63 Dixie Hwy., Rossford, on April 29, according to Rossford police Sgt. Todd Kitzler.

The suspect was captured on security cameras at the business during the incident. The units were valued at $15,000, with at least $1,500 scrap value, Sergeant Kitzler said.
