Construction closes central city intersection

A central Toledo intersection that closed for reconstruction Thursday is scheduled to reopen in two weeks, the city transportation division announced.

City Park and Indiana avenues are both closed while their junction is rebuilt. No detour routes are posted.

Washington Township residents saw an Ultralight plane fly over the field and drop a bag, alerting authorities to the suspicious activity about 11 a.m., officials said.

The department asked for mutual aid from the Toledo Fire Department’s hazardous materials crew, which was able to determine the bag did not contain anything harmful.
