Event today to accept electronics, bulky items

A Toledo City Council member and several public agencies are co-sponsoring a bulky waste and electronics drop-off event today at a parking lot in South Toledo.

Televisions and computer components will be among the items accepted from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the lot at 100 N. Byrne Rd., just north of Hill Avenue.

While targeted toward residents of Council District 1, the free drop-off is open to all Toledoans with a goal of discouraging illegal dumping in the city, Councilman Tyrone Riley said.

The city Department of Public Services is running the event in cooperation with Goodwill Industries and Keep Toledo-Lucas County Beautiful.
