Criterium Bike Race scheduled Saturday
8/20/2012The Sylvania Criterium Bike Race returns to the Burnham Park/Plummer Pool area on Saturday.
The first race on the course surrounding the park and the pool areas is to start at 8 a.m.
A few streets in the area will be closed for most of the day, beginning at 7 a.m. Volunteers and police officers will be able to open some of the streets temporarily for residents, however.
The event is now in its second year and it is a championship race for women and men.
Burnham Park has playground, picnic, and swimming facilities available, and racers are encouraged to bring their families to take advantage of all the park has to offer during the cycling classic.
