Students in a Owens Community College building in Perrysburg Township have returned to classes after being evacuated earlier today because of a chemical spill, authorities said.

There was a minor chemical spill in the Math-Science Center, prompting officials to evacuate the building, Owens spokesman Bradley Meyer said.

No one was injured in the incident and the building was reopened by 3 p.m.

The spill was reported at 11:22 a.m.

Tom Brice, Perrysburg Township Fire Department chief, said the spill occurred when a glass container was dropped, spilling a mixture of organic waste products. The products were the result of routine school experiments, which are normally conducted under a hood. The spill created respiratory dangers, so the building was immediately evacuated.
