ARCHBOLD, Ohio — Northwest State Community College trustees created a scholarship opportunity Friday for area high school students who take dual enrollment classes.

Through Project Jump Start, high school students can take courses at their high school for which they will earn both college and high school credit. Any student who successfully completes one or more Project Jump Start class through Northwest State will be eligible for a scholarship of up to $500 to the college under the plan.

Dennis Giacomino, admissions director, said even students who plan to attend a four-year university can use the scholarship “during the summer months to accumulate additional credits before the student leaves home for a university in the fall.”
