Katie Arth, a PETA representative from Los Angeles, right, accompanied by a person dressed as an elephant with a bloody bandaged-wrapped head, distributes coloring books to students Thursday as they leave Ottawa Hills Elementary School in Ottawa Hills. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals was protesting the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, which opened the same day in Toledo. Ms. Arth said the coloring books show the difference between how animals live in the wild, and how they live in circus captivity.
