The city of Sylvania’s loan secured through Lucas County for several improvement projects at the Maumee River Wastewater Treatment Plant is approaching a due date in July.
Sylvania Service Director Kevin Aller is recommending to the Utilities and Environment Committee that the city pay off the $463,000 debt from the city’s $1.2 million rainy day fund, thereby saving about $220,000 in interest fees, Mr. Aller said.
The Utilities and Environment Committee will discuss the loan repayment options at 6 p.m. on April 1.
Its recommendations on how to repay the debt will be brought to City Council.
