The city of Sylvania’s Country Journal magazine will be a biannual publication. City Council voted to produce the publication twice a year to reduce publishing costs.

An initial budget plan provided for production of four issues, one fewer. But during its March 18 meeting, City Council agreed that less expensive ways to communicate with Sylvania residents exist.

Most of the information in the magazine is available online, Mayor Craig Stough said, and each issue costs $3,500 to produce. A January issue will continue publication because it contains the city’s garbage and recycling pickup schedules, while the second issue in June will offer general city updates.
