Meeting will explain English language class
4/24/2013Information about Toledo Public Schools’ English as a Second Language program will be offered at a community meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Walbridge Elementary School.
Parents and guardians of students currently enrolled in the program are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn how it works and how they can help their children succeed.
Parents are welcome to bring their children to the event, where free refreshments will be served, school spokesman Patty Mazur said.
Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, and Vietnamese translators will be on hand to offer information, Ms. Mazur said.
The program helps students who are designated as English Language Learners. Its goal is to help students become more proficient with the English language and to be successful in school.
