2 hurt in ATV crash in Sandusky County
5/6/2013GREEN SPRINGS, Ohio -- Two people ejected from an all-terrain vehicle Sunday night are recovering at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
Kristi Ely, 28, of Green Springs, is in good condition; Allison Gerhardstein, 7, of Bellevue, is in fair condition, a hospital spokesman said.
The two were taken by LifeFlight to the medical center after the crash, which was reported at 8:46 p.m.
Ms. Ely was driving the ATV in a field southwest of County Road 177 in Green Springs Township in Sandusky County when she lost control. The vehicle overturned and ejected both Ms. Ely and the Gerhardsetin youth.
Neither was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Fremont Post of the Highway Patrol.
Green Springs is about 50 miles southeast of Toledo.
