Adoption event lands 111 animals new homes

There were 111 animals that found new homes as the result of the weekend’s “Fido and Feline Fiesta” adoption event sponsored by the Lucas County dog warden.

The Lucas County dog warden adopted out 45 dogs during the two days, a record for the office, Dog Warden Julie Lyle said. The Toledo Area Humane Society adopted out 63 animals, including 24 dogs, 13 puppies, 20 cats, three kittens, two guinea pigs, and one rabbit, according to Cyndi Condit, the humane society’s marketing and special events manager. The Lucas County Pit Crew adopted out three “pit bulls.”
